Linear lanceolate leaves spirally arranged ,dark green above yellowish green beneath.
It will be seen on the seashore and planted for hedges and garden tree.
Wood is used for chests,kegs and furnitures. Fruit is edible.
Distribution ; Honshu, Shikoku, Kyushu, Ryukyu, Formosa.
An evergreen tall tree with shallowly fissured brownish greybark.
