Leaves are alternate, oblong, or eliptic, short acuminate rounded to acute at the base, serrulate with incurved teeth, green and glabrous above, glaucous beneath.
Flowers in March to April with new leaves.
Capsules ripening in May.
This willow is widely distributed in the warm-temperatezone of central and western Japan.
The wood, light and soft, is used for clogs, boxes.
